Freia Patient Terms of Use
Effective Date: 28 January 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Freia ("Freia"), a behaviour-coaching and health-insight platform provided to you as part of your care through your clinic or healthcare provider.
By accessing or using Freia, you agree to these Terms and to the Freia Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
1. What Freia Is
Freia is a health-support platform that delivers personalised nudges, reminders, and insights based on goals or treatment plans created by your treating clinician.
Freia:
- does not independently diagnose conditions,
- does not prescribe medications or treatments, and
- does not replace clinical judgement or medical advice.
All clinical care remains the responsibility of your healthcare provider.
Freia is not suitable for medical emergencies. If you experience urgent or concerning symptoms, contact emergency services or seek immediate medical attention.
2. Your Use of Freia
By using Freia, you agree to:
- Use Freia only in connection with care provided by your clinic or healthcare provider.
- Follow your clinician's medical advice before acting on any insight, score, reminder, or suggestion presented in Freia.
- Ensure that information you provide (including photos, logs, or self-reported metrics) is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
- Keep your login credentials confidential and secure.
- Notify your clinic or Freia Support if you become aware of errors, inaccuracies, or technical issues.
- Receive notifications, reminders, and behavioural nudges as part of your care (you may manage non-essential notifications in app settings).
Freia may offer optional integrations with wearables or third-party services. Freia is not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or reliability of data from those services.
3. Your Data and Privacy
Your clinic or healthcare provider may share relevant personal and health information (such as goals, lab results, or treatment plans) with Freia so the platform can support your care.
How We Protect Your Information
We protect your information through a combination of clinical, technical, and organisational safeguards, including:
- encryption of data in transit and at rest,
- secure hosting of clinical and health data within Australia,
- strict access controls limited to authorised clinic staff and approved support personnel,
- audit logs to support privacy, security, and clinical integrity.
To support secure account access and platform operation, Freia uses trusted third-party service providers for functions such as authentication and identity management. These providers may process limited personal information (such as your email address, login credentials, IP address, or device information). They do not access your health records unless explicitly required and contractually permitted.
Further details are set out in the Freia Privacy Policy.
Your Data Rights
Subject to clinical and legal requirements, you may request:
- access to your personal information,
- correction of inaccurate information, or
- deletion of certain information.
Requests can be made through your clinic or by contacting Freia Support at support@freia.com.au.
Use of De-Identified Data
You agree that Freia may use de-identified and aggregated data to:
- improve platform performance,
- refine insights and algorithms, and
- support quality improvement and research activities.
Your identity will never be disclosed in this process.
4. Account Access and Termination
Your Freia account is personal to you and must not be shared with others.
Your access may end if:
- you cease care with your clinic, or
- your clinic stops using Freia.
Freia may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are breached or if misuse of the platform is identified.
5. Limitation of Liability
Freia is provided as a supportive digital tool, not as a substitute for medical advice or clinical care.
Your healthcare provider is responsible for:
- your diagnosis and treatment,
- interpreting clinical information, and
- deciding how Freia insights are used in your care.
To the extent permitted by law:
- Freia is not liable for clinical outcomes or health decisions made using the platform,
- Freia does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability,
- Freia's liability is limited to re-supplying access to the service or refunding applicable fees (if any).
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.
6. Updates and Support
Freia may be updated from time to time to improve functionality, security, or performance.
For support or questions, contact:
- your clinic, or
- Freia Support at support@freia.com.au
7. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Queensland courts.
Acceptance
By continuing to use Freia, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Use.
